New Delhi: A former CRPF constable shot at his friend suspecting he was in an illicit relation with his wife. The accused has been arrested and the weapon used in the crime has also been recovered by the police.
The police received a call about shooting in the area around 8 pm on Monday and rushed to the spot. Vijay Verma, the victim, was found lying in a pool of blood and his relatives alleged that he was shot thrice by Ketan Yadav, the former CRPF constable.
Verma is was hospitalised immediately after he was shot and is undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be critical.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the former constable. The weapon used in the crime was a licensed revolver which was also recovered by the police along with 33 live cartridges.
During interrogation Ketan confessed that he suspected Vijay Verma, his friend, of getting intimate with his wife which led to strained relations and finally divorce.
Yadav also revealed that after divorce he was married again but wanted to settle scores with his friend and first wife but before he could go to his first wife he was arrested.
