DMK leader MK Stalin and his sister Kanimozhi were arrested on Friday during protests over Cauvery water row

Chennai: DMK leader MK Stalin and his sister Kanimozhi were arrested on Friday during protests over Cauvery water row. 
 
Stalin was arrested by police while trying to stop trains, while his sister was detained for staging a road block in Chennai. 
 
The one-day long shut down has been called by farmers' and trade bodies to protest over the  Cauvery issue. The 'bandh' is being supported by  DMK, Congress, MDMK, PMK, TMC, CPI(M), and CPI.
