New Delhi: When asked about the tumultuous political climate in Goa and the different parties emerging to contest the upcoming elections, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday downplayed the announcement of a new political outfit by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Subhash Velingkar.
Talking about the political climate in Goa, the Defence Minister said, “So many parties are there. AAP is there. Anyone can float the party, this is democracy.”
Adding that he was a “disciplined swayamsevak”, Parrikar, however, refused to comment on the situation of RSS in Goa.
Speaking to reporters, Parrikar said, “I am swayamsevak, I follow RSS. You will have to go to shakha to follow RSS.”
“Discipline is the most important aspect for me. I have followed the discipline and I will continue to follow it. If you want any comment on RSS you will have to contact RSS,” he said.
Rebel RSS leader announced that Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch would be seeding a political party on October 2. Velingkar’s supporters have formed the RSS Goa Pant after breaking off from the RSS Konkan Pant.
Till the Assembly polls, the unit will function independently, confirmed Velingkar recently.
