New Delhi: Defence minister Manohar Parrikar and Army chief General Dalbir Singh will be visiting Uri in Jammu and Kashmir where 4 terrorists infiltrated inside an army camp killing 17 soldiers in what is being termed as one of deadliest attacks on the Indian Army.

The army brigade in Uri is located at the Line of Control (LoC). It is suspected that the attack was fidayeen.

It has been confirmed that a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module was behind the attack which took place in Uri early on Sunday.

The injured persons have been rushed to the Army base hospital in Srinagar.

After the attack, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh has canceled his Russia visit due to the ongoing protests in Kashmir. Rajnath Singh has also called for an emergency meeting following the attack.
