New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday said that they had seized at least 500 kg of ganja (weed) from two different locations in the national capital in the month of September.

In the first incident that took place on September 12, police nabbed two ganja smugglers from Pragati Maidan area namely Daleep Kumar Yadav and Sanjay Kumar. The accused used to procure the organic drug substance from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and bring it to Delhi by train.

Acting on a tip, police seized around 43 kgs of ganja, worth Rs 6 lakh from the accused.

In another similar incident that occurred on September 14, acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch sleuths arrested Amrik Singh and Ram Kumar from Rohini and seized 500 kg of ganja, worth Rs one crore, from their possession. Two luxury vehicles were also seized by the police.

Both the cases have been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) confirmed a police official.
