New Delhi: A man hailing from the Dehgala Village in UP, chopped-off the nose of his sister-in-law on Monday, after she rejected his advances on her.
The victim, who was married to the younger brother (now deceased) of the accused identified as, Nathulal, had previously filed a complaint with the police demanding action over the indecent behaviour. However, the police ignored the matter quoting it as a family dispute.
Further disclosing the matter, the concerned police authority said that the 48-year-old accused, on Monday morning barged into the woman's house following which the woman rushed to the Gram Pradhan to complain about Nathulal and she had agreed to return home only on the assurance of the Pradhan that he was coming over to sort out the matter.
But before Pradhan could reach the victim's house, Nathulal, who was already present at the house waiting for the woman, attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon, chopping-off her nose.
The additional superintendent of police, Vivek Kumar Vaid said that a case has been registered and the woman has been sent for medical examination.
However, the accused is still absconding.
