New Delhi: Tapping into the mystery surrounding the demise of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, a British forensic expert has exclaimed in his report that the model-turned-actor's hanging was probably staged and that the marks on her physiognomy hinted towards something other than suicide.

According to Jason Payne-James, a forensic expert from Britain, the reports on Jiah Khan's suicide hints at gross discrepancies in the actual narration of the incidence.  The injuries on Jiah's lower lips which have been claimed as 'friction with the teeth' has been questioned by James as he believes that the marks are indicative of 'blunt force trauma to the mouth region'.

"They are not typical of teeth marks," says James in his report.

"I would have expected any forensic specialist to have insisted on seeing the dupatta. I do not see that there is any realistic possibility of the dupatta creating the patterned injury under the chin. Other causes or objects should have been considered such as a blunt impact from a patterned object, or a ligature made of different material," Payne-James's report questioned the state's claim that the ligature marks on Jiah's lower jaw was caused by 'slippage of material'.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stated to the Bombay High Court a month back that there were no reasons to suspect that Jiah was murdered. Jiah's boyfriend Aditya Pancholi is the primary suspect in the case.
