New Delhi: Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Tuesday was appointed as party’s new national General Secretary by Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Singh had been expelled from the party in 2010 after a rift with Mulayam. He went on to float his own party Rashtriya Lok Manch in 2011. However, his party failed to win a single seat in 2012 assembly polls forcing him to return to his old party.
Singh is believed to be the centre of rift within Yadav family, but seems to have survived the political storm by taking Mulayam Singh Yadav into confidence.
