New Delhi: Chhattisgarh police on Tuesday nabbed two persons in Raipur and seized 15 kg of opium from their possession. The estimate cost of the drugs is worth Rs 15 lakhs in the market.
According to reports, the peddlers are interstate smugglers and they were arrested last week.
Police found the drugs hidden in a car near a gas warehouse. They also recovered four mobile phones from the traffickers.
Days ago, the crime branch of Delhi Police arrested a gang of drug traffickers from the Kishan Kunj area. About 300 grams of high quality heroine worth Rs 10 lakh was recovered from their possession.
Last week, US President Barack Obama named India along with other 21 countries, as the country that rampantly produces major illicit drugs within its boundaries.
