New Delhi: Personnel of security forces on Friday neutralised six Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) in East Karbi Anglong district, Assam.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the outlawed insurgents. A search operation was also conducted in the area.

Days ago, a joint team of Assam police and the army apprehended eight hardcore KPLT militants including its self-styled Commander-in-Chief from West Karbi Anglong. A large cache of weapons including four rifles, grenades, live ammunition, extortion notices and receipts were recovered from them.

Last month, another Karbi militant was gunned down by security forces during an encounter. A 9 mm pistol along with ammunition, fired cases, one hand grenade and other war like stores were recovered from the site.
