New Delhi: An Akali sarpanch has been booked by the police along with his son for assaulting a five-month pregnant nurse at Gupta Hospital in Baghapurana on Thursday afternoon.
Paramjeet Singh, sarpanch of Alamwala and a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was at the Moga village hospital for the discharge of villager Gelo. Singh asked Dr Ravi for the medical bill. However, when Nurse Ramandeep Kaur told the father-son duo to wait at the reception, the sarpanch allegedly started abusing her.
“He started abusing me, saying ‘tu mainu jandi nahin, main Akali sarpanch aa’ (You don’t know me. I am an Akali sarpanch),” Kaur stated in the FIR.

“After that, Gurjeet pushed me and when I tried to resist, both the sarpanch and his son thrashed me. I received internal injuries,” she stated.
The video of the incident was shared under the name 'Akali Sarpanch di Goondagardi' on YouTube. It can be clearly seen in the video that both the father and the son attacks Ramandeep before the doctor separates the trio.
When police went to arrest Paramjeet and his son after booking them under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code, the duo went on the run and since has escaped police clutches.
