New Delhi: A woman was booked by police in Kashmir for allegedly injuring her husband by throwing acid on him. The woman’s daughter helped her in the act.
As per police reports, Shamima Akhtar who has been married to Mohammed Din, her husband of 10 years, flung acid on him after she got to know that he had married another woman in Bani town of Jammu's Kathua district.
The accused, Shamima Akhtar carried out the heinous crime with the help of her daughter and two other individuals. Mohammed Din who is serving as a police constable suffered severe burn injuries in the acid attack, while his wife too was injured.
Further disclosing the matter, Station House Officer (SHO) of Bani, Suresh Gautam said, "Both the accused and the victim were rushed to the sub district hospital Kathua from where the husband was rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in a critical condition".
A case has been registered against both the woman and her daughter.
"The case will follow its course and the accused will be arrested after being discharged from the hospital", the SHO added.
