New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reinstated KJ George to the Karnataka cabinet after George was given clean chit by the CID in DySP Ganapathy’s alleged suicide case.
KJ George will be reinstated to the cabinet on Monday and will be re-allotted the same portfolio of Bengaluru Development, reports Kannada news channels.
George had to resign under pressure after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against him pertaining to the death of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganapathy.
The Bengaluru MLA was named along with other politicians by Ganapathy in his last interview he gave to a local news channel. Ganapathy alleged that he was being constantly harassed by George and IPS officers AM Prasad and Pronab Mohanty. It was after Ganapathy’s son filed an FIR against George which led to his resignation.
Ganapathy’s death has also been shrouded in mystery since it was not made abundantly clear whether the officer committed suicide or was killed.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, despite the Cauvery crisis looming in the background, is expected to reinstate George soon.
