New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday launched ‘Spot the Kachra’ drive over the unattended garbage in the national capital.
The campaign aims to inform the residents of Delhi that maintaining sanitation is the responsibility of the civic bodies.
The Aam Aadmi Party said cleaning the garbage is the responsibility of BJP-ruled civic bodies.
“Due to multiplicity of agencies in Delhi, sometimes people forget that it is BJP’s MCD which has to keep the city clean,” said Ashish Talwar, in-charge of AAP Delhi unit.
“Through the campaign, the AAP volunteers will highlight that it is MCD’s inaction that has led to the present crisis,” Talwar added.
The AAP volunteers are pasting stickers at the sites where the garbage is scattered.
The text on the sticker reads—BJP’s MCD is responsible for disposing this garbage.
AAP’s Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey said that BJP-led civic bodies are playing with the health of people. The MCDs are obligated to keep the city clean, but they have failed miserably.
The move by AAP comes at a time when Delhi is battling with the mosquito-borne diseases like Chikungunya and Dengue.
