New Delhi: At least five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured in a grenade attack in Anantnag district's Wanpoh in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The area was immediately cordoned off by the security forces.

The police said suspected militants hurled a grenade at a road opening party of the CRPF near Wanpoh village of Kulgam, some 60 km south of Srinagar.
The grenade missed the target and exploded on the roadside.

The injured CRPF troops were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Earlier in the morning, gunshots were heard in Bandipora district, which is close to the Line of Control.
