New Delhi: Former bureaucrat BK Bansal who was booked under the charges of corruption by the CBI, committed suicide on Tuesday at his residence at Madhu Vihar, Delhi.

Bansal who was booked under the graft charges, killed himself along with his son who was suffering from depression at their house in Delhi. Bansal was previously the Directorate General of Corporate Affairs (DGCA) before being arrested by the CBI on the charges of bribery.

His wife and daughter had earlier committed suicide when he was arrested by the CBI in July.

As per the charges he was booked under, Bansal was attempting to skip a probe against a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company. The CBI had also allegedly caught him accepting a bribe of Rs 9 lakh.

Earlier this year in August, Bansal was granted bail by a special court on humanitarian grounds.
