Naxals in Bijapur stabs the STF jawan

New Delhi: A jawan of Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday was stabbed by Naxals in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

The wounded jawan was admitted to a hospital and provided medical treatment.

Earlier on the same day, two members of Communist Party of India (Maoist) were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in the dense forest of Fulbadgi Police Station area in Sukma district.

The encounter took place in Fulbagdi area during a search operation conducted by a joint team of District Reserve Group (DRG), Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and local police.

The security forces recovered one muzzle gun and one 315 bore rifle along with other items from the spot.

On Saturday, two Maoist militants were killed in an encounter in Dantewada district. Cache of weapons including one 315 rifle and one SBML rifle were recovered from the slain rebels.
