New Delhi: BK Bansal a senior bureaucrat hanged himself with his son on Tuesday at his Delhi residence. Bansal's wife and daughter had hanged themselves in the same house in July this year.

Bansal in his suicide note directly blamed CBI for harassment and accused senior officials of abusing and torturing his family.

In his suicide note the former DGCA bureaucrat mentioned a CBI officer Sanjeev Gautam's name and said that he threatened him and had said that his future generations would be scared of his name. The bureaucrat had also alleged in the note that the officer acted with impunity because of close links to BJP president Amit Shah.

CBI has initiated an inquiry against the officers named by BK Bansal in his suicide note.

Bansal was booked under graft charges and was suffering from depression. He was previously the Directorate General of Corporate Affairs (DGCA) before being arrested by the CBI on charges of bribery.

As per the charges Bansal was attempting to skip a probe against a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company. The CBI had also allegedly caught him accepting a bribe of Rs 9 lakh.

Earlier this year in August, Bansal was granted bail by a special court on humanitarian grounds.
