Thousands moved as J&K-Pak border villages evacuated

The evacuation was carried out in the areas of RS Pura sector and Samba sector

New Delhi: Following the surgical strikes across Line of Control (LoC) conducted by Indian Army on Thursday, villages of Jammu and Kashmir which share international border with Pakistan have been evacuated.

The evacuation was carried out in the areas of RS Pura sector and Samba sector.

Earlier on the day, other villages in Attari Sector and Pathankot of Punjab and few other villages in Jammu & Kashmir which share border with Pakistan were evacuated.

The emergency ward of Civil Hospital in Pathankot was cleared and all the leaves of the doctors and nurses have been cancelled. All schools within 10 kms of India-Pak border were closed till further orders.
