New Delhi: With the whole country rejoicing in celebrating the nine days of Navratri festival, many people are taking to the streets, halls, public gatherings to mark the important Hindu occasion.

One such instance has been captured from Surat in Gujarat where specially-abled people danced full-heartedly to the rhythm of this ancient ritual. While the crowd clapped and the sticks clacked, the enthusiasts did not stop themselves from having fun because of their disability.

 

 

Navaratri is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga. The word Navaratri means ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Devi are worshipped.
