Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan on Friday announced the name of their new political party 'Swaraj India'.

New Delhi: Expelled Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan on Friday announced the name of their new political party 'Swaraj India'.

"Forming a new party for alternative politics is a sacred duty," tweeted out Yadav, attributing the quote to Bhushan.

Earlier on July 31, Yogendra Yadav had announced the launching of a new party by October 2 to provide an "alternative political vehicle".

Ahead of the launch, Yadav said, “We were never secretive about going political. A decision to launch a political party was taken with nearly 93 per cent of the delegates at the convention overwhelmingly supporting it.”

Yadav and Bhushan were expelled from the party for anti-party activities last year.
