New Delhi: An accused who was jailed in relation to Dadri lynching case died in the jail hospital on Tuesday.

The deceased Robin was among the 16 others who were accused of killing Mohammad Akhlaq in Gautam Budh Nagar for allegedly slaughtering a cow and consuming beef.

On Monday, relatives of jailed accused persons continued to stage their sit-in for the third day demanding the arrest of Jaan Mohammad, a brother of Akhlaq. They accused police of acting under state government pressure in the case.

In July 2016, a local court in Greater Noida directed the police to lodge an FIR against members of Akhlaq's family following a petition filed by locals of Bisahada village for consuming beef.

A mob had lynched 52-year-old Akhlaq and injured his son Danish after dragging them out of their home in Bishada village on September 28, 2015, following rumours that they had slaughtered a cow and consumed beef.
