Those doubting surgical strikes should take Pakistan citizenship, Uma Bharti said.

Pune: Lashing out at politicians who cast “doubt” on the Indian army’s surgical strikes along the Line of Control (LoC), Union Minister Uma Bharti said they should take Pakistani citizenship.

"Those leaders who say that if Pakistan is demanding evidences about surgical strike, they should be given the evidences, such people should take the citizenship of Pakistan," Bharti said.

Uma Bharti was in Pune to attend the centenary celebration of Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS).

The Congress had on Sunday asked the govt to provide evidences of last week’s surgical strikes, to expose Pakistan which is denying the action.

Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam on Tuesday had raised a doubt over the surgical strikes suggesting that it was fake.

"Every Indian wants surgical strikes against Pakistan but not a fake one to extract just political benefit by BJP. Politics over national interest(sic)," Mr Nirupam tweeted.
