Three doctors from AIIMS reach Chennai to treat Jayalalithaa

New Delhi: A team of three doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi reached Chennai to treat Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The AIADMK supremo is undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai.
 
Though there was no press release from the side of the hospital but officials in the Union Health Ministry confirmed that three doctors which includes cardiologist Dr Nitish Nayak, anaesthesiologist Dr Anjan Trikha and pulmonologist Dr G C Khilnani had left for Chennai on Wednesday.
 
Jayalalithaa was hospitalised on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration.
 
It has been more than 15 days since Jayalalithaa has been hospitalised. Very little information has been put out in the public domain about the actual condition of the CM's health.
 
On Sunday the hospital authority briefed that CM had infection and a team of doctors from the London Bridge Hospital in UK gave antibiotics to treat her condition.
