New Delhi: The villagers of Bishada, after the death of the 22-year-old accused of Dadri lynching case who recently lost his life at Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Hospital in Delhi due to kidney and respiratory failure refused to cremate his body.
The villagers draped Ravi alias Robin's coffin in a tricolour claiming that he had been martyred protecting "Hindu values".
As per reports, as soon as the dead body reached the village, the villagers rejected Ravi's autopsy reports claiming that he was murdered. Seeing the body draped in a tricolour, policemen and administration preferred to keep quite because objection would have sparked violence in the area.
The lynching of Mohammad Akhlaq on September 28 last year over suspicion of cow slaughter and consumption of beef created a sensational climate in the country.
Ravi was among the 18 people arrested for allegedly lynching local Akhlaq and injuring his son Danish.
