New Delhi: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old boy in Trimbakeshwar near Nashik city of Maharashtra on Saturday evening. The terrific incident led to tension in area.
Reports said that the accused lured the two minor sisters by offering them chocolate. While the older managed to run away, the younger sister stayed. Later the accused took the victim to an isolated place at Talegaon village and raped her.
Following the incident, villagers staged a protest by blocking Mumbai- Nashik Highway and demanded that the culprit be booked and arrested. They also burnt down two police vehicles.
The victim has been admitted to Nashik Civil Hospital. There a group of people protested demanded that the victim be examined by a woman doctor.
The teenager has been arrested and was booked under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
