Meerut: As a punishment given to a specially-abled 10-year old boy for not wearing shoes, his teacher garlanded him with sandals.

The incident has been reported from a school in Shamli’s Dangrol village, Pride Academy.

Virendra Singh, father of the boy, told Times of India that due to disability in his child’s right leg, it is not possible for him to wear shoes to school every day. Wearing shoes everyday leaves marks, which makes it even more difficult for his child to walk. As a result, the boy had worn sandals on Saturday. The class teacher on seeing this, garlanded the boy with the sandals and made him took a round of the entire school.

The boy’s father has lodged a complaint and wants strict action to be taken against the teacher and the school authorities.

However, the school has denied all the allegations, stating that the boy was only scolded that day and his father is making up this story as he has not paid the school fees for the last three months. Fathe,r on the othee hand, whose both sons study in the same school, claims that the fees has already been paid.
