New Delhi: Mohanan K, a CPI(M) worker in Kerala, was hacked to death on Monday by unidentified assailants at Valankichal near Anjarakkandy in Kannu district. Another worker was attacked with Mohanan K.
Mohanan was attacked by six-member gang around 10:30AM in the morning outside a local shop. After the attack, the CPI(M) alleged that Hindu outfit RSS was behind the attack.
Mohanan was immediately rushed to the hospital after the attack, but he died on the way. The attackers it is known had their faces covered with masks.
CPI(M) will be holding the funeral for Mohanan after his postmortem.
As per a CPI(M) statement around 30-40 sharp wounds were inflicted on the body of Mohanan. This, CPI(M) said, was the second murder of a CPI(M) worker in Dharmadom constituency represented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
