Shah and Jaitley are expected to arrive in Chennai to meet Jayalalithaa

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are likely to visit Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Wednesday.

According to BJP sources, both Shah and Jaitley are expected to arrive in the city tomorrow afternoon and return to Delhi on the same day.

AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on September 22 following fever and dehydration. High profile leaders and well wishers across the country have visited the ailing chief minister.

Political leaders including Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, DMK leader MK Stalin and Governor of Kerala P Sathasivam have visited the hospital to enquire about Jayalalithaa's health.

Doctors have said that she needs a longer stay at the hospital as she has been suffering from infection and is on respiratory support.
