New Delhi: Ahead of Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal’s Surat rally on October 16, banners carrying his photograph with Hafiz Saeed, Osama Bin Laden and Burhan Wani, terming them “heroes of Pakistan”, surfaced in many areas across the city on Thursday.

While AAP blamed BJP, the saffron party has rejected the allegations against them and said they have nothing to do with such banners.

The moment AAP members got information about the banners; they immediately reached the spot and removed them.

Surat AAP spokesperson Yogesh Jadvani told The Indian Express, “The banners had been put up by BJP workers as they don’t want Kejriwal meeting to take place. We have removed eight such banners. We are expecting over one lakh people to attend Kejriwal’s public meeting. AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas and Sanjay Singh will also accompany Kejriwal.”

On Thursday, Aam Aadmi Party had also claimed that its posters had been removed from different parts of the city.

Kejriwal will be addressing the people at Yogi chowk on Sunday and thousands are expected to attend the rally.
