New Delhi: With Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the hospital for over three weeks, the Centre is now mulling to appoint a new Governor for the state of Tamil Nadu very soon.
The post has been lying vacant ever since K Rosaiah quit the office in August-end. C Vidyasagar Rao, governor of Maharashtra, holds the additional charge of Tamil Nadu governor.
A source in the government said, “The process of appointment of a new Governor in Tamil Nadu is on.”
On Tuesday, Governor Rao allocated Jaya’s portfolios to Finance Minister O Paneerselvam but said the AIADMK supremo will continue to be the Chief Minister.
