Uttar Pradesh: After the bitterness in the Yadav Parivar, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said he might be cornered but can’t be defeated.
Akhilesh said given that given the present situation, he may have to go solo for campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
"Bachpan mein, mera naam mujhe khud rakhna pada (When I was a child, there was no one to name me). In the same way, I think I will have to start my election campaign on my own, without waiting for anyone," he told TOI.
The UP CM said he is confident that he will win a second term in the 2017 polls.
"I am not being pompous. But, just like a perfect batsman whose runs flow from his bat and create records, my unprecedented development work will ensure my return to power," he said.
Asked about the family feud, Akhilesh said there is nothing like that and there is no bitterness within the family.
The trouble started in the Yadav Parivar after Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh appointed his brother Shivpal Yadav as the state party chief. This didn’t go well with Akhilesh Yadav and he relieved his uncle of all the major portfolios.
