Delhi Police arrests AAP MLA Naresh Balyan in assault case

A case was registered against Naresh Balyan under Sections 323, 341, 451 and 506 of the IPC

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Balyan in an assault case after an FIR was lodged against him on 10 October by Henry George, the President of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Mohan Garden area.
 
Henry George, who was also a former AAP volunteer, had accused Balyan and his associates of trespassing his office, attacking him and issuing threats to his life.
 
A case was registered against Naresh Balyan under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 451 (assault) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
 
 
Responding to this issue, AAP leader Ashutosh while taking a potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Modi's dictatorship-one day-Dy CM interrogated by ACB, AAP Gujarat in charge Gulab Singh issued NBW, MLA Naresh Balyan arrested." 
 
Following Balyan's arrest, his supporters staged outside Uttam Nagar police station.
