New Delhi: On Sunday midnight, a bemused Omar Abdullah claimed that he was detained at the New York Airport for two hours for additional security checks pertaining to immigration.

"Another 'random' secondary immigration check upon landing in the US. Thrice in three visits, the randomness is growing tiresome now," the former J&K CM tweeted.

The minister claimed that he is always almost checked regularly on his arrival to the airport. "I just spent TWO hours in a holding area and this happens EVERY time... "I'm here to speak at an event organised by NYU but I almost wish I'd stayed at home instead... That's two hours well and truly wasted!!" he said.
