Lucknow: The Central govt is batting for more land from the state government for the Ramayana museum in Ayodhya. Earlier the proposal for the land was 25 acres but now the land demanded is 50 acres.

The land allotted earlier was 15 kms away from the disputed site but now exclusive details with NewsX reveal that the museum will be 5 kms away from Ram Janma Bhooni site. Top government sources revealed the information to NewsX on condition of anonymity.

At first the museum was to be under the tourism ministry but now it would also be under Ministry of Culture.  The Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma will be visiting Ayodhya soon to meet the ‘akhada’ chiefs and also other religious leaders to shape the plan of the centre for the museum.

The central government maintains the stand that the decision of building the museum is purely cultural but the political rivals of Bharatiya Janata Party in the state turn it political stunt before the assembly polls.
