New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Sandeep Kumar who was booked and jailed for rape charges was, on Monday, provided separate security guards after the minister alleged threat to his life inside Tihar Jail.
Authorities in Tihar Jail made the submission before Special Judge Poonam Chaudhry in regards to Sandeep's application asking for special separate van or SAG for attending the court proceedings on specified scheduled dates.
The court, however, had earlier maintained that the AAP MLA be produced before court through video conferencing pertaining to the threat surrounding the rape-accused minister.
Sandeep Kumar was arrested on September 3 following rape charges by a woman at Sultanpuri police station in North Delhi. The former Social Welfare and Women and Child Development minister was sacked from AAP after a sex tape of him was circulated online.
