Chhattisgarh: Around 3 IEDs (improvised explosive device) bombs were recovered and defused in Sukma, Chhattisgarh after naxals ran away leaving them behind after they were seen by the locals in the area.

Such type of terror activities by naxals are not new in the state and have risen in the recent past.

Earlier, a jawan of Special Task Force (STF) was stabbed by Naxals in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The wounded jawan was admitted to a hospital and provided medical treatment.

Also a  couple of days ago, the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had busted a Maoist module in the National Capital Region and arrested 10 people including their “area commander” who is suspected to have links with Maoists outfits in Jharkhand.

“The extremists were expert in making bombs and were planing some incidents in the Delhi-NCR region… a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession,” said Inspector General of Police, ATS, Aseem Arun.
