New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed an FIR in the 2008 Embraer scam, naming NRI defence consultant Vipin Khanna as key beneficiary of the deal.
As per the reports Khanna, 87 was the agent who received commissions to the tune of $5.76 million in 2009.
The NRI was earlier probed in 2006 in connection with oil-for-food scandal in which his son, Aditya Khanna, was named as the main beneficiary of the contracts following which his passport remained impounded for a long period.
The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is being probed by prosecutors in Brazil and the US Justice Department over commissions allegedly paid to a UK-based defence agent for clinching the 2008 deal.
