New Delhi: A Samajwadi Party MLC, believed to be close to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, has asked the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to step down and let his son take his place.
In a “private letter” written to Mulayam Singh, Udayveer Singh, a first-time MLC (Member of Legislative Council), has accused Mulayam’s second wife Sadhna of harbouring ill feeling towards her stepson Akhilesh.
He also said that Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Yadav was jealous of the chief minister’s popularity.
Accusing Sadhna of conspiracy, Udayveer Singh said Akhilesh yadav was being subject to black magic to harm him.
However, a party leader Anshu Malik said writing such letters were not “even worth 500 votes”.
Criticising the letter, she said, “The party would not tolerate indiscipline and any attempt to humiliate Netaji (Mulayam Singh) will not be tolerated.”
