New Delhi: Father of martyred Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Gurnam Singh on Sunday said his brave son has sacrificed for the nation.
“He was brave. Our son has sacrificed his life for the nation. Nobody is sad. In fact we’re all happy,” said Kulbir Singh, the father of the slain soldier.
The BSF constable, who was wounded in retaliation for a sniper attack along the international border in Kathua district succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening.

Lamenting the lack of proper facilities at the hospitals where injured soldiers are treated, Kulbir appealed for a good hospital with essential facilities for Indian security forces.
“We want a good hospital to be in place, where all essential facilities will be present,” said the father of the jawan.
On Saturday, Gurnam’s sister Gurjeet Kaur questioned the government on its apathy towards the woes of Indian security forces.
Kaulbir also appealed to the Narendra Modi led government for a “war with Pakistan”.
“Modi sarkaar se appeal hai ki humein jung chahiye,” he said.
Body of the BSF jawan has been taken for post mortem.
