New Delhi: A combined team of AP and Odisha police killed eighteen members of the banned CPI (Maoist) near Jantri in Malkangiri district in Odisha.
The Hindu reported that few of the top leaders of the party might’ve been neutralised in the attack. Identification of the bodies will confirm whether top leaders in the group have been eliminated in the operation or not.
Forces who conducted operation recovered four AK-47 rifles, three Self Loading Rifles and other guns from the goods seized from the Maoists.
This latest operation is being hailed as a major success for security forces in Malkangiri district of Odisha as the area serves as the major transit point for the transportation of contrabands.
