New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put out a special message video ‘Sandesh for Soldiers’ appealing to people to dedicate this Diwali to the soldiers of nation.
In the video, he is seen urging the citizens of India to remember the armed forces serving the country and send them letters and postcards through his app.
The 3-minute video starts with a child who sends a ‘Thank You’ rocket along with a message for the forces. It also features a mother making ladoos and waiting for her son to join her on Diwali. The video beautifully evokes emotions of pride and gratitude for the armed forces.
At last, PM Modi asks people to send special greetings or hand-written messages to the soldiers through Narendra Modi app or mygov.in.
Indian army on September 29 had carried out surgical strikes acloss the Line of Control (LoC), killing scores of terrorists.
An official said that the cause (soldiers) is very close to Prime Minister’s heart and since he became PM, he has been celebrating Diwali with armed forces.
“This perhaps shows that this cause (soldiers) is closest to his heart. Since becoming the PM, Narendra Modi has spent both Diwalis with the armed forces,” an official said.
