Chennai: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief Karunanidhi has fallen sick after he developed drug allergy that he was taking regularly, said a release by the party headquarters on Tuesday. He has been advised rest by the doctors.
“President Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) is ill because of an allergy caused by a medicine he is using and is taking rest. Doctors have advised him a few more days rest, and people are advised not to disturb him,” the release said.
The release also said that the DMK chief was not keeping well from few days.
Earlier today, the DMK had called for an all-party meet.
M Karunanidhi on October 20 had officially named MK Stalin his political successor.
The news of Karunanidhi’s illness comes a month after AIDAMK chief Jayalalithaa was admitted in the Apollo hospital on September 22 after the Tamil Nadi Chief Minister complained of fever and dehydration.
