New Delhi: In a fresh war between Shivpal Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, the former has written a letter to the UP CM about the indiscipline by one of his ministers of state Pawan Pandey who holds the forest ministry. Pandey was accused by Ashu Malik, an MLC of the party, for allegedly slapping him and manhandling him.

Meanwhile, state party president Shivpal Yadav has expelled Pandey from the party for six years.

Pawan Pandey is known to be a close aide of CM Akhilesh Yadav. He was elected as an MLA from the constituency of Ayodhya in the 2012 assembly elections. He was also elected as the vice-president of the student unions in University of Lucknow in 2004.

Pandey had defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Lallu Singh from Ayodhya, creating a stir. Samajwadi Party became the first party to upset the BJP after the Babri Masjid demolition. Pandey soon became one of the youngest ministers in Akhilesh’s cabinet.
