New Delhi: A Border Security Force (BSF) head constable who was injured by a splinter in shelling by Pakistan military on Thursday morning in Abdullian region of RS Pura Sector in Jammu and Kashmir succumbed to injuries.
At least six civilians were injured in mortar shelling in the international border area.
Cross border firing occurs frequently in the region as Pakistan continues to ceasefire violation since the surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army in September.
On Wednesday, an assistant sub-inspector of BSF was injured in the firing. Several houses have also been damaged due to firing.
Days ago, an eight-year-old boy was killed in shelling and firing in Kanachak sector.
