NEW DELHI: Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar of the Aam Aadmi Party government resigned from his post on Tuesday following a major controversy over acquiring fake degrees. In yet another embarrassment for the AAP, another MLA of Arvind Kejriwal's party is in the soup for the same reason. Surinder Singh of AAP is now likely to be questioned for reportedly acquiring fake degree from the Sikkim University.

While Surinder has maintained of acquiring his degree from the Sikkim University in 2012, the RTI response explain that the AAP leader does not exist in the Sikkim University records.

According to the reports, Surinder Singh provided false education information in the election affidavit which has definitely escalated the trouble for the AAP leader.

The Delhi High Court had issued a notice to Singh last month to file a response to a plea by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) leader Karan Singh Tanwar seeking setting aside of his election over supposed wrong declaration of educational qualification in his nomination paper.
