New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the Rajasthan government on the plea of Asaram who is seeking to be shifted from Jodhpur Hospital to Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for medical treatment.
A bench of the court agreed to hear the plea to modify its order on his treatment in Jodhpur AIIMS.
On October 24, the apex court refused to grant an interim bail on medical grounds to the self-styled godman who is facing trial in rape cases. However, it allowed to constitute a three-member medical board to examine him for the ailments he is complaining about.
Asaram who is being tried under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) is lodged at the Central Jail in Jodhpur.
