New Delhi: In a heart-wrenching incident, a half eaten body of a new-born child was recovered from a garbage dump at Gobindpura industrial area in Phagwara.
The new-born child was dumped in the industrial area along railway lines between Phagwara and Phillaur rail section.
Further disclosing the matter, local Government Railway Police (GRP) in-charge Gurbhej Singh said, “The body of the child was recovered by some rag pickers on Thursday who later informed the police.”
Stray dogs might have eaten some parts of the newborn’s body, he further added.
Following the incident, a case under Section 318 (concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body) of IPC was registered against unidentified persons. The body of the child has been sent for post-mortem by the GRP.
