New Delhi: In a horrific incident that has come to light, a 25-year-old woman was brutally stabbed in her face by her jilted lover on Thursday at a bus terminus in Chennai after she declined his advances.
 
The accused, a 32-year-old, stabbed the woman in her face with a knife at one of the busiest bus terminus, Koyambedu in Chennai, after the woman gave a negative response to his advances.
 
The woman, who was being attacked, raised an alarm at the terminus following which a police official on duty in the vicinity nabbed the assailant with the help of other passersby at the terminus.
 
The accused was produced before a court on Friday which remanded him to judicial custody.
 
Following the investigation, the police said, earlier the man and the victim had worked together in a private firm some three years ago, and at that time too, he had pestered the woman to accept his advances.
