New Delhi: A powerful IED exploded in Manipur’s capital town Imphal on Saturday morning. The blast occurred at around 7:30 am near Majorkhul Gate along MG Avenue.
A car and some buildings in the area were damaged in the incident.

A police team has reached the blast spot. No casualties have been reported.
Earlier this week, a bomb blast took place in Ukhrul damaging a hall where the state Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was scheduled to speak to the people. The CM escaped unhurt after militants from National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) open fired when he was getting out of his helicopter at the helipad.
